Brokers note Asian owner Agritrade has snapped up an elderly VLCC for $24m. The brokers say that the 309,300 dwt DHT Chris, built in 2001, owned by New York-listed DHT Holdings, is on
subjects to the diverse commodities trading house which is involved in both processing, logistics, and trading of commodities.
Another similar aged VLCC was sold to the same outfit at the beginning of the year. Agritrade was reported paying Euronav $38.4m for the 298,412-dwt VLCC Famenne which has since been renamed Sea Horizon.
Agritrade also has a fleet of tugs and barges.
